I got an hour of overtime and a cloudy head today. The reason - our office building was struck by lightening during short thunderstorm some 40 minutes ago. It knocked out power briefly, damaged office net, almost killed my monitor. It took IT 40 minutes to get everything back working. Third day of solid -30C and lower. But it looks like this time it came to less of surprise - there are almost as much cars on roads as usual and almost everyone at work still send kids to kindergarden. Work-day was broken by fire alarm. Nobody was really worried - we have training ones regularly and with Winter Cherry fire still so recent they happen more often. But it is always annoying, as you have to drop everything you are working at and then wait outside in any weather while everyone is counted. All in all it takes around half-an-hour ( Read more... )
